Surfing in Bali. There is a whole surfing culture in South Bali with stores, shops, gear rentals. Its common that people come to Bali only for surfing.
Bali is surrounded by Indian Oceans monsoon winds that break water all year round of its shores. When masses of water hit the island they break and bounce off the reefs and drop offs. Gentle trade winds coming from the islands calm the nascent waves and prevent them from breaking too quickly making Bali a heaven for beginner and intermediate surfers.
