
Renting a car with a driver is probably the most convenient way to see the island. They usually know their way around and will be able to take you to popular tourist attractions. Don't worry about finding a driver, as they will most likely find you first or listen to the characteristic "Transport, transport?" They seem to be on almost every corner.

Costs of hiring driver
Transport rates may vary. We suggest for you to check in a couple of places and try to bargain. Below are average prices for different transport services. Expect to pay a little bit less, or a little bit more, regardless they are considered good for both the passengers and the drivers.

Bemo
Public form of transportation in Bali is a small minibus called the Bemo. They depart frequently from many areas in Ubud, but don't have a set schedule and operate on a roundabout route. Inform a driver where you want to go before getting in. The best place to catch a Bemo in Ubud is beside the market. Cost: fares are for Bemos are not set. A drive across town is usually Rp 4,000.
Shuttle Bus
Shuttle buses travel between major tourist destinations around Bali. They are a little bit more expensive than traveling via local Bemo's but they stop in only major towns and are a lot quicker and more comfortable. Cost of a shuttle bus from Kuta to Ubud: RP 35,000.
